Landscaping Design

Outdoor spaces designed for how you actually live.

We design landscapes that work with the South Texas climate — drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and beautiful through every season.

A Real-World Use Case

A Mission, TX backyard reimagined

Landscaping design project — modern home with native plantings and manicured lawn
The Problem

A young family had a wide-open backyard that turned to dust in summer and flooded after every storm. They wanted a usable space for their kids without giving up the open feel.

Our Approach

We designed zoned planting beds with native salvias and Texas sage, regraded the lawn for proper drainage, and added a decomposed-granite path connecting a play area to a future patio site.

The Result

Within one growing season the yard held its shape through heavy rains, attracted pollinators, and gave the family a backyard they finally wanted to spend time in.

How We Work

A clear process from first call to final walkthrough.

1

On-site walkthrough

We listen first, then measure the lot and note sun, drainage, and existing features.

2

Concept sketch

A plant palette and zoning plan, presented in person so you can see the vision before anything goes in the ground.

3

Refinement

We adjust to your feedback, your budget, and any site constraints we discover together.

4

Installation handoff

We carry the design through to install with our crew, or hand off clean documents to yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only design, or do you install too?

Both. Most clients have us do the design and then carry it through to install with the same crew.

What plants work in the Rio Grande Valley?

We lean on native and adapted species — Texas sage, salvia greggii, Mexican olive, palmettos — that survive heat, drought, and the occasional freeze.

How long does a design take?

Typically 2–3 weeks from initial walkthrough to a finished plan, depending on complexity.

Will the design survive a freeze like 2021?

We design with cold tolerance in mind. Expect to lose some accent plants in extreme events, but the bones of the landscape will hold.
