A Mission, TX backyard reimagined
A young family had a wide-open backyard that turned to dust in summer and flooded after every storm. They wanted a usable space for their kids without giving up the open feel.
We designed zoned planting beds with native salvias and Texas sage, regraded the lawn for proper drainage, and added a decomposed-granite path connecting a play area to a future patio site.
Within one growing season the yard held its shape through heavy rains, attracted pollinators, and gave the family a backyard they finally wanted to spend time in.
Both. Most clients have us do the design and then carry it through to install with the same crew.
We lean on native and adapted species — Texas sage, salvia greggii, Mexican olive, palmettos — that survive heat, drought, and the occasional freeze.
Typically 2–3 weeks from initial walkthrough to a finished plan, depending on complexity.
We design with cold tolerance in mind. Expect to lose some accent plants in extreme events, but the bones of the landscape will hold.
Tell us what you're picturing. We'll come look, listen, and put a plan together — no pressure.
