A Real-World Use Case

A backyard patio in Brownsville

Covered patio with stone columns, pergola, and landscaping
The Problem

A homeowner wanted to entertain outside but had a sloping yard with poor drainage and no shaded surface.

Our Approach

We graded and prepped the area, poured a 480 sq ft stamped concrete patio with a subtle slate finish, and added a pergola anchored into the slab for afternoon shade.

The Result

The space became the family's primary entertaining area — usable from spring through fall and protected from the western sun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Concrete or pavers?

Concrete is typically more affordable and faster. Pavers offer more design flexibility and easier repair if something settles.

How long does a patio take?

Most builds run 1–2 weeks from start to walkable surface, with additional cure time before heavy use.

Can you build over an existing slab?

Sometimes — we'll inspect for cracks and movement first. If the base is sound, we can overlay or tile.

Do you build pergolas and covers?

Yes — often as part of the same project so the shade structure is properly anchored.
